Representative Stuart Schmidt Contact information

Stuart Michael Schmidt, Jr. is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 33B in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He assumed office on January 11, 2023. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Schmidt was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1998. He later attended Salisbury University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 2002. He also holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the University of Baltimore, which he received in 2014.

Before entering politics, Schmidt had a diverse career. He worked as a Supply Chain Coordinator and Production Planner at Perdue Farms Inc. from 2002 to 2004. He then moved to Mountaire Farms, where he served as a Retail Sales Account Manager and Logistics Coordinator from 2004 to 2010. During this time, he also worked as a Real Estate Professional for Martin and Moore Realty from 2006 to 2010.

In 2010, Schmidt started working as a Realtor and property manager at Keller Williams Flagship of Maryland. He also operates his own realty business, called Schmidt Home Consultants, which is a Keller Williams Realty independent franchise.

Schmidt has been actively involved in his community. He served on the Board of Directors of the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors from 2015 to 2022. He has also been involved in local sports, coaching Varsity Baseball at Glen Burnie High School from 2014 to 2023, and Varsity Golf at the same school in 2023. He is currently an Assistant Coach for Varsity Baseball at Crofton High School since 2024.

In 2022, Schmidt filed to run for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 33, which was later redrawn into District 33B. He won the Republican primary on July 19, 2022, receiving 70.4 percent of the vote, and later won the general election on November 8.

In the legislature, Schmidt is a member of the House Judiciary Committee. He also serves on the Civil Law & Procedure Subcommittee and the Public Safety Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Protocol Committee.

On a personal note, Schmidt is married to his wife, Michele. Together, they have one child and live in Crofton, Maryland. In 2023, he was named Realtor of the Year by the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors.
