Representative Amy Sangiolo

Amy Sangiolo is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 11th Middlesex District. She assumed office on January 1, 2025, after winning the general election on November 5, 2024. Her current term ends on January 6, 2027.

Amy Sangiolo’s journey in public service began long before her tenure in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College and a law degree from Rutgers University. Her career experience includes working as a legal assistant and intern, legal extern, law clerk, attorney, and supervising consumer specialist for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. This diverse background has equipped her with a deep understanding of the legal system and the challenges faced by her constituents.

Before joining the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Amy Sangiolo served on the Newton City Council for an impressive 20 years. During her time on the council, she was known for her commitment to environmental protection, affordable housing, transparency in government, and constituent services. Her long track record of accomplishment in these areas earned her the trust and support of her community.

In the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Amy Sangiolo continues to advocate for the issues that matter most to her constituents. She has sponsored and co-sponsored numerous bills aimed at improving the lives of the people in her district. Some of her notable legislative efforts include updating the public shade tree law, preventing home insurers from forcing tree removal, remodeling public school athletics through social-emotional learning, and protecting youth during custodial interrogations.
