Daniel R. Carey is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 2nd Hampshire District. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He assumed office in 2019 and his current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Carey represents the towns of Easthampton, Hadley, South Hadley, and Granby. He serves on several committees including the Joint Committee on Education, the Joint Committee on Election Laws, the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture, and the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery.

Before serving as a State Representative, Carey served as a City Councilor at Large in Easthampton. Prior to that, he served on the Easthampton school committee. He has also sponsored several bills during his tenure.

Carey’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Emmanuel College (Massachusetts) and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Western New England University School of Law.
