Representative Hannah Bowen

Hannah Bowen is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 6th Essex District. She assumed office on May 21, 2025, and her current term will conclude on January 6, 2027.

Bowen won her seat in a special election held on May 13, 2025, defeating Republican candidate Medley Long with 73.5 percent of the vote. She succeeded Jerry Parisella in representing the district, which includes Beverly and surrounding communities. Prior to her election to the House, Bowen built a strong foundation in public service and policy work, having studied at Yale University and later earning a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. Her academic background provided her with the analytical skills and leadership training that have shaped her approach to governance and legislative priorities.

As a legislator, Bowen quickly became active in committee work, securing assignments on the Joint Committee on Housing, the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight, and the Joint Committee on Transportation for the 2025–2026 session. Her electoral success in both the Democratic primary, where she defeated Todd Rotondo, and the general election demonstrated her strong support among voters in the district.
