Representative Tom Walsh
Thomas P. Walsh, born on July 15, 1960 in Salem, Massachusetts, is an American politician who represents the 12th Essex district in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He served in this role from 1987 to 1995 and was re-elected in 2016. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.
In addition to his legislative duties, Walsh is also a funeral director by profession. He is married to Mary and they have two children. His interests include reading and outdoor activities.
Walsh’s educational background includes attending Salem State College and Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. His public service record is extensive, having served on the Peabody City Council from 1984 to 1987, and again from 2014 to the present. He also served on the Peabody School Committee from 1998 to 2001. Furthermore, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Peabody Institute Library Foundation and the Peabody Cultural Collaborative.
