State Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno was elected to her fourth, non-consecutive term in the state House in November 2024. She represents District 34, which includes the cities of Adrian, Morenci, and Tecumseh; the villages of Addison, Blissfield, Cement City, Clayton, Clinton, and Onsted; a portion of Blissfield Township and the entirety of the townships of Clinton, Tecumseh, Raisin, Palmyra, Riga, Ogden, Franklin, Adrian, Madison, Fairfield, Cambridge, Rome, Dover, Seneca, Woodstock, Rollin, Hudson, and Medina.

District

State Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno was elected to her fourth, non-consecutive term in the state House in November 2024. She previously served the people of Lenawee County in the House of Representatives during her first three terms from 2011-2016, prior to the extension of term limits.

The 34th House District includes the cities of Adrian, Morenci, and Tecumseh; the villages of Addison, Blissfield, Cement City, Clayton, Clinton, and Onsted; a portion of Blissfield Township and the entirety of the townships of Clinton, Tecumseh, Raisin, Palmyra, Riga, Ogden, Franklin, Adrian, Madison, Fairfield, Cambridge, Rome, Dover, Seneca, Woodstock, Rollin, Hudson, and Medina.

Committees

Nancy is the chair of both the Joint Capital Outlay Committee and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity. She is also the Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on School Aid and Department of Education. She also serves on the full House Appropriations Committee and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education and Community Colleges.

Education

Nancy Jenkins-Arno graduated from Evangel University in 1986 and earned her master’s degree in political science from the University of Toledo in 1991.

Public Service

Nancy’s public service journey began when she first served as the district representative for State Sen. Cameron Brown. During those eight years, she gained a better understanding about the people and the needs of Lenawee County.

She then ran for state representative and served three terms from 2011 to 2016, during which time she served as a member of the Appropriations and Commerce and Trade Committees.

Most recently, Nancy served three terms as a Lenawee County Commissioner from 2018-2024. This role allowed her to demonstrate her effectiveness in representing and addressing the needs of local residents.

She also served as director of development for Hudson Area Schools District, where she created the Alumni and Development Department, securing funding for the district’s Southern Michigan Center for Science and Industry Center and coordinating relations with alumni.

Personal

Nancy’s dedication to her community began on her family’s farm in Rollin Township, where she continues to live to this day with her husband, Rich.
