Ann Johnson Stewart is an American Democratic politician, educator, and civil engineer from Minnesota. She was born on July 27, 1964, in Wausau, Wisconsin. Johnson Stewart has been a member of the Minnesota Senate since 2024, representing District 45, which includes Orono, Wayzata, much of Minnetonka, and other cities around Lake Minnetonka in western Hennepin County. Prior to this, she represented District 44 from 2021 to 2023, which included Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Woodland in Hennepin County in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
Johnson Stewart’s journey into politics began after she defeated Greg Pulles in the 2020 election, following the decision of incumbent Senator Paul Anderson not to run again. During her tenure, she served on several committees, including Capital Investment, Transportation Finance and Policy, and Jobs and Economic Growth Finance and Policy.
