Eric Lucero

Eric Lucero, born in 1977 or 1978, is a prominent politician from Minnesota. He is a member of the Republican Party of Minnesota and currently represents District 30 in the Minnesota Senate.

Early Life and Education

Lucero was born in Germany and later moved to the United States. He attended Metropolitan State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). He furthered his education at the University of Minnesota, earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).

Political Career

House of Representatives

Lucero began his political career in the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 30B in east-central Minnesota. He was first elected to the House in 2014 and was re-elected in 2016, 2018, and 2020. During his tenure, Lucero was a successful litigant in an October 2020 lawsuit which prohibited Minnesota’s seven-day extension for counting absentee ballots received after Election Day, a measure that was put in place during the COVID-19 emergency powers earlier in the year.

Senate

In 2022, Lucero was elected to the Minnesota Senate, representing District 30. As a senator, Lucero has been the chief author of numerous bills related to medical freedom, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, stopping ESG, strengthening election integrity, and more. In 2024, Lucero was the chief author of proposed Minnesota legislation inspired by the chemtrails conspiracy theory, on the basis of conspiratorial pseudoscience, with references to made-up phenomena like “xenobiotic electromagnetism and fields.”

Personal Life

Lucero is married to Erum Lucero. They reside in Dayton, Minnesota. Outside of politics, Lucero is a cyber security professional, real estate agent, and small business owner.
