Representative Kari Rehrauer
Kari Rehrauer is an American politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. She represents District 35B, which includes the cities of Coon Rapids and Andover in the northwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area. Rehrauer is a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL).
Rehrauer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and her Master of Education degree from the University of Minnesota. Before entering politics, she worked as a science teacher, bringing her passion for education and commitment to fostering a love of learning in her students.
In the 2024 general election, Rehrauer ran for the Minnesota House of Representatives to represent District 35B. She won the election, defeating her Republican opponent, Steve Pape, with 50.51% of the vote. Rehrauer assumed office on January 14, 2025, succeeding Jerry Newton.
As a legislator, Rehrauer is dedicated to addressing the needs of her constituents and working on issues such as education, housing, and veterans’ affairs. She serves on several committees, including the Education Finance, Housing Finance and Policy, and Veterans and Military Affairs Division.
