Senator Zach Duckworth
Zach Duckworth is a member of the Republican Party and is currently serving his second term in the Minnesota State Senate. He represents District 57, which includes Lakeville, Farmington, and surrounding communities in Dakota and Goodhue Counties. He assumed office on January 3, 2023, and his current term ends on January 5, 2027.
Before his current term, he served in the Minnesota State Senate for District 58. He was first elected in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022. His tenure in the Minnesota State Senate began in 2021.
Senator Duckworth serves as an Assistant Minority Leader and is the Ranking Minority Member of the Higher Education Committee. He is also a member of the Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee and the Education Policy Committee.
Born on July 1, 1987, Duckworth is a small business owner by profession. He earned his Bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Saint Thomas. He is married to Carly and they have three children.
In addition to his legislative duties, Duckworth has a distinguished military career. He joined the Minnesota Army National Guard and had reached the rank of Major by 2023.
