William Briggs Hopson III, known as Briggs Hopson, was born on October 10, 1965, in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. He is a member of the Republican Party and has been serving as a member of the Mississippi State Senate from the 23rd district since January 8, 2008.

Education: Briggs Hopson attended the University of Mississippi for his undergraduate and law degrees. His commitment to education extends beyond his own, as he has also served as an adjunct professor at the Mississippi College Law School.
