Senator Don Hartness

Don Hartness is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Mississippi State Senate, representing District 42. He assumed office on January 6, 2026, and his current term will conclude on January 4, 2028.

Hartness won election to the Mississippi State Senate in November 2025, succeeding Robin Robinson. His victory came after the general election was canceled, allowing him to secure the seat outright. District 42 includes parts of Jones, Wayne, Forrest, and Greene counties, areas where Hartness has long been active both politically and civically.
