Fabian Nelson is a distinguished member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing the 66th District. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party and has been serving in this position since 2024. Fabian has the distinction of being the first openly LGBTQ lawmaker in Mississippi.
Born on July 17, 1985, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Fabian has always been a dedicated individual. She pursued her education with a focus on business administration, earning an associate degree from Holmes Community College in 2009. She furthered her education at Jackson State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in 2011. Not stopping there, Fabian went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from American Public University in 2016.
Before her political career, Fabian worked as a real estate broker. Her professional experience in this field has undoubtedly contributed to her understanding of the housing market and property laws, which she now applies in her role as a legislator.
In the 2023 elections, Fabian ran for election to represent District 66 in the Mississippi House of Representatives. She emerged victorious in the general election held on November 7, 2023. Her current term in office is set to end on January 4, 2028.
Beyond her political and professional life, Fabian is also an active member of various organizations. She is a part of Friends of Jackson, The Human Rights Campaign, Mississippi Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Byram Chamber of Commerce, Raymond Chamber of Commerce, and Jackson State Alumni Association; Byram/Terry Chapter.
As a representative, Fabian Nelson continues to serve her constituents with dedication and integrity, making significant contributions to the state of Mississippi.
