John Horhn is an American politician who has served in the Mississippi State Senate from the 26th district since 1993. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He was born on February 8, 1955, in Goodman, Mississippi. He is married to the former Lydia Gail Cole and they have two children, Siraj and Charla.

Horhn received his B.A. degree from Centre College in Kentucky. He also earned a certificate in Community Leadership from Jackson State University and attended the Governors Center program in strategic planning at Duke University. His professional experience includes working as a community development consultant and motivational speaker.

Before his political career, Horhn served as state tourism director from 1989 to 1992. He was first elected to the Mississippi Senate in 1993 and has been serving ever since. His current term ends on January 4, 2028.

Throughout his tenure, Horhn has been assigned to various committees including Business and Financial Institutions Committee, Senate Energy Committee, Finance Committee, Highways and Transportation Committee, Senate Insurance Committee, Labor Committee, Senate Legislative Budget Committee, Public Health and Welfare Committee, and Senate Tourism Committee.

In addition to his political career, Horhn is also a board member of New Stage Theatre and Rainbow Health Food Co-op. He has appeared in several movies and television programs and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
