Missy Warren McGee is an American politician who has been serving as the Representative for the 102nd district in the Mississippi House of Representatives since 2017. Born on March 31, 1966, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, McGee attended Hattiesburg High School before enrolling at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Early Life and Education: McGee earned her bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Southern Mississippi. She later obtained her master’s degree in the same field from the same alma mater. After completing her education, she worked as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Trent Lott in Washington, D.C., before returning to Mississippi.

Political Career: In a special election, McGee decided to run for the seat vacated by outgoing Representative Toby Barker, who was elected Mayor of Hattiesburg. Despite running against three other candidates, McGee emerged victorious, winning the run-off with a significant margin. She was sworn in on October 13, 2017. Notably, McGee became the second woman to hold the District 102 seat, following in the footsteps of Evelyn Gandy, former Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi. Her election also helped Republicans maintain a supermajority in the Mississippi House.

In subsequent elections, McGee continued to represent District 102. In the 2019 Republican primary, she ran unopposed and secured victory in the general election. For the 2021 House session, McGee serves as the Vice-Chair for the Public Health and Human Services committee.
