About Representative Mike Steinmeyer
Representative Michael Steinmeyer, a Republican, proudly represents part of Jackson County (District 20) in the Missouri House of Representatives, including the City of Sugar Creek. He was elected to his first term in November 2024. A native of Sugar Creek, Rep. Steinmeyer graduated from William Chrisman High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Evangelism from Oral Roberts University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and has a diverse professional background. After retiring from his military service, he worked as a realtor and spent seventeen years as a sales manager and trainer in Los Angeles and Kansas City. Rep. Steinmeyer also served on the Independence City Council from 2020 to 2023, further demonstrating his commitment to public service and his community. He resides in Sugar Creek with his wife, Kana, and his mother Betty. He has three adult children: Jessica, Caleb, and Jael. Rep.
