He assumed office on January 4, 2021, and his current term ends on January 6, 2025. Schillinger ran for re-election to the Montana House of Representatives to represent District 37 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Schillinger graduated from Circle High School and earned a degree in accounting from the University of Montana. His career experience includes working as a farmer and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
