Representative Mike Vinton

Mike Vinton is a dedicated public servant and a proud representative of Montana’s House of Representatives for District 40. Born and raised in the heart of Montana, Mike grew up in White Sulphur Springs, where he developed a deep connection to the land and the values of hard work, independence, and community. His upbringing in this rugged and beautiful state instilled in him a lifelong passion for Montana’s unique way of life.

Mike pursued higher education at Montana Tech, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. During his time at Montana Tech, he also showcased his athleticism and teamwork as a football player for the Orediggers. His academic and athletic experiences laid the foundation for his future endeavors, combining technical expertise with a strong sense of discipline and collaboration.

After completing his education, Mike embarked on a career in engineering, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. However, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a new path in 1996 when he founded Vinton Construction Inc. Through this venture, he built a successful business specializing in residential and commercial construction projects. His commitment to quality and innovation earned him recognition within the industry, and he served as the president of the Billings Homebuilders Association and as the second vice president of the Montana Builders Industry Association.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike has always been deeply committed to giving back to his community. He has actively supported numerous local organizations, including the Billings Playhouse Parade, Special Olympics, Eagle Mount, Optimist Club, youth sports programs, and the White Sulphur Springs Labor Day Rodeo. His dedication to community service reflects his belief in the importance of fostering strong, supportive communities.

Mike’s journey into politics was driven by his desire to serve the people of Montana and contribute to the betterment of his state. He has been an active observer of Montana politics for many years and decided to step forward as a candidate for the Montana House of Representatives. In the 2024 elections, he successfully ran for the District 40 seat, earning the trust and support of his constituents. He officially assumed office on January 6, 2025, and is committed to representing the interests and values of his district.

As a multi-generational Montanan, Mike Vinton embodies the spirit of Montana—resilient, resourceful, and deeply connected to the land and its people.
