Senator Shane Morigeau

Shane Morigeau is a dedicated public servant and an influential figure in Montana politics. Born on September 8, 1984, in Missoula, Montana, he grew up in Ronan, Montana, as a proud member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation. Morigeau pursued higher education with a focus on law and public service. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana School of Forestry and Conservation in 2007. He then went on to obtain a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana in 2010. To further enhance his expertise, he completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the University of Arizona in 2011.

His career began with a strong focus on legal advocacy, working as a prosecutor and attorney for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. In 2017, Shane Morigeau was elected as a Democratic member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 95. Later that year, he was appointed to the Montana Senate by the Missoula County Board of Commissioners following the resignation of Senator Nate McConnell.
