Representative Shannon Maness

Shannon Maness is a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 70. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.

Shannon Maness has a rich and diverse background that reflects his deep connection to Montana and his commitment to public service. Born and raised in Georgia, Shannon grew up in a conservative household where he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for the outdoors. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a degree in animal science and a minor in agricultural economics. Before moving to Montana, Shannon explored various careers, including working as a cutting horse trainer, real estate agent, and UPS delivery driver.

In 2010, Shannon and his wife, Krista, chose to make Montana their home, drawn by the state’s natural beauty and opportunities. They settled in Dillon, where Shannon embraced the community and began contributing in meaningful ways. He worked as a hunting guide in wilderness areas and in national parks like Glacier and Yellowstone. Later, he transitioned to managing a recreational ranch and eventually started his own business, Blacktail Appliance Repair, in 2018.

Shannon’s dedication to his community is evident in his extensive volunteer work. He has served as an elected trustee of the Dillon Elementary School Board and as the finance chairman of the Beaverhead County Republican Central Committee. Additionally, he has been involved with youth hunting programs and local landlord associations. His faith plays a central role in his life, guiding his values and principles.

As a legislator, Shannon Maness is committed to upholding conservative values and working collaboratively with his colleagues to create laws that protect families and foster opportunities for growth. His focus remains on preserving the freedoms and moral foundations that have shaped the nation while addressing the needs of his constituents in District 70.
