Early Life and Education

George Dungan III was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School in 2006. He pursued higher education at the University of Kansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and women, gender, and sexuality studies in 2010. He furthered his education at the Washington College of Law at American University, where he graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2013.

Career

Before his political career, George Dungan III worked as an attorney. His decision to run for election to the Nebraska State Senate was to represent District 26. He won the general election held on November 8, 2022.

Elections

In the general election for Nebraska State Senate District 26, George Dungan III defeated Russ Barger. The election was marked by an incident in which an attack ad created by a pro-Barger political action committee used a photograph of another man, Dustin Rymph, misidentified as Dungan.
