Senator Glen Meyer

Glen Meyer is a Republican member of the Nebraska State Senate, representing District 17. He assumed office on January 8, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 3, 2029.

Born on March 14, 1951, in Wayne, Nebraska, Glen Meyer grew up in Pender, where he graduated from Pender High School in 1969. He pursued a career as a farmer and businessman, dedicating much of his life to serving his community. Over the years, Meyer has been actively involved in various local organizations and boards, including the Northeast Nebraska Pork Producers, the Thurston County Board of Supervisors, and the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Board. His leadership extended to the Region 4 Behavioral Health System, where he served on both the executive and governing boards, as well as the board of School District 25.

Meyer is a devoted family man, married to Lorie Habrock since June 6, 1980. Together, they have three children: Andrew, Sara, and Jenna. A practicing Catholic, Meyer is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and has previously served on the parish board of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

In the Nebraska State Senate, Meyer is committed to addressing the needs of his constituents in District 17. His legislative priorities include education, healthcare, and fostering economic growth in rural communities. As a member of the Education, Health and Human Services, and State-Tribal Relations committees, Meyer works to ensure that the voices of his district are heard and represented in the legislative process.

Meyer’s dedication to public service and his deep roots in the community have earned him the respect and trust of his constituents. His leadership and commitment to improving the lives of Nebraskans continue to guide his work in the state legislature.
