Jane Michele Raybould is a distinguished member of the Nebraska Legislature, representing District 28. She assumed office on January 4, 2023, succeeding Patty Pansing Brooks. Her current term is set to end in 2027.

Born on November 1, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jane Raybould completed her high school education at Pius X High School in 1977. She then pursued higher education at Creighton University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 1981. She furthered her studies at Georgetown University, where she obtained a Master’s degree in 1985.

Before her tenure in the Nebraska Legislature, Jane Raybould served as a member of the Lincoln City Council. She also has experience as a Lancaster County Commissioner. In addition to her political career, Raybould is a business executive. She works with her family at their employee-owned grocery business, B&R Stores, as Vice Chairman and Director of Buildings and Equipment. In this role, she oversees capital investments, real estate developments, remodels, construction, and property management.

In the political arena, Jane Raybould has been a Democratic candidate for several significant positions. She was the Democratic Nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska in the state’s 2014 gubernatorial election. Although she did not win, she continued her political journey with determination. In 2018, she ran for the U.S. Senate from Nebraska but was not successful.

Despite these setbacks, Jane Raybould’s dedication to public service remained undeterred. She ran for election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 28 and won in the general election held on November 8, 2022.
