Senator Jared Storm

Jared Storm is a member of the Republican Party serving in the Nebraska State Senate, representing District 23. He assumed office on January 8, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 3, 2029.

Born on March 27, 1971, in Scott City, Kansas, Jared Storm grew up with a strong sense of community and a passion for public service. He graduated from Scott Community High School in 1989 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 1994. He furthered his education at Fort Hays State University, where he studied education and graduated in 1996.

Before entering politics, Storm had a diverse career that included teaching middle school and working as a small business owner and entrepreneur. His dedication to his community extended beyond his professional life, as he served on the Wahoo Airport Authority, the parish council of St. Francis Catholic Church, and the board of the Nebraska Aviation Trades Association. His contributions to the field of agricultural aviation earned him recognition, including the 2018 Nebraska Airman of the Year award and the 2016 Puffer Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Design of Agricultural Aircraft and Equipment.

Storm’s decision to run for the Nebraska State Senate was driven by his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents and fostering economic growth in District 23. His campaign focused on issues such as supporting local businesses, improving education, and enhancing infrastructure. In the 2024 general election, he defeated his opponent, Dennis Fujan, securing 54.9% of the vote.

As a state senator, Storm serves on several committees, including Agriculture, General Affairs, and Judiciary. His legislative priorities reflect his dedication to the agricultural community, education, and public safety. Storm’s leadership and collaborative approach have earned him respect among his colleagues and constituents alike.

Residing in David City, Nebraska, Jared Storm is a devoted family man. He is married to Colleen, and together they have six children. His personal and professional experiences continue to shape his vision for a prosperous and united Nebraska.
