Justin Wayne is an American politician from the state of Nebraska. He was born on August 27, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Omaha Northwest High School in 1998. He earned his B.S. from Creighton University in 2002 and his J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law in 2005. He has 4 younger siblings.

Wayne was elected to the Nebraska Legislature for District 13 in the 2016 Nebraska elections. Previously, he served as president of the board of Omaha Public Schools. Wayne served as the attorney for the family of James Scurlock, who was shot during the 2020 George Floyd protests in Nebraska.

Justin T. Wayne (Democratic Party) is a member of the Nebraska State Senate, representing District 13. He assumed office on January 4, 2017. His current term ends on January 8, 2025. Wayne ran for re-election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 13.

Wayne was the Subdistrict 4 member of the Omaha Board of Education in Nebraska. He ran unopposed and won re-election by default in the general election on November 4, 2014. Wayne was first elected to the board in 2010. While the school board is nonpartisan, Wayne is a Democrat. Wayne resigned from the board in January 2017 to join the State Senate.

Wayne graduated from Northwest High School in 1998 and earned his bachelor’s and J.D. from Creighton University in 2003 and 2005, respectively. Wayne worked as an assistant director in labor relations at Union Pacific Railroad. He now owns his own law practice. He is president of the Midwest Trailblazers Youth Program and serves on the board of directors for Goodwill industries.
