Senator Tom Brandt
Tom Brandt, born on December 1, 1959, in Beatrice, Nebraska, is an American farmer, engineer, and politician. He is currently serving as a member of the Nebraska Legislature from the 32nd district.
Education: Brandt is a graduate of Tri County High School, class of 1978. He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics and mechanized agriculture in 1982.
Career: Before entering politics, Brandt worked as an industrial engineer at Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich and as a project engineer at IBP. His political career began when he was elected to the Nebraska Legislature in November 2018. He assumed office on January 9, 2019, and was re-elected in 2022.
In addition to his political career, Brandt has been involved in various organizations. He served as the president of the Southeast Nebraska Corn Growers Association and the chairman of the Jefferson County Republicans. He was also a member of the board of the Farmers Cooperative of Dorchester and the advisory council/nominating committee of Farm Credit Services of America. Furthermore, he was the president of the Plymouth Improvement Association and the congregation president of First Trinity Lutheran Church.
Personal Life: Brandt is married to Sandra Rodriguez since August 6, 1988. They are blessed with two children: Mariah and Evan.
