Representative Angie Taylor
Angie Taylor is an American politician who has been serving in the Nevada Assembly for the 27th district in Reno since 2022. She is a member of the Democratic Party and has previously served on the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees for District E.
Born in San Francisco, California, Angie moved to Reno in her early teens. She is an alumni of Hug High School. Angie has a strong academic background with multiple degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1985, a Master of Public Administration and Policy in 1991, and a Doctor of Education in 2004.
Before her political career, Angie worked as a consultant, as president and chief executive officer at Guardian Quest, and for the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been affiliated with several organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs, the NAACP, the Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society, Nevada Women’s Fund, and the University of Nevada Intercollegiate Athletics.
In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Angie was assigned to the Education Committee as Vice Chair, and also served on the Government Affairs Committee and Health and Human Services Committee.
Angie is currently running for election to the Nevada State Senate to represent District 15. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 11, 2024.
