Representative Brittney Miller
Brittney Marie Miller is a Democratic member of the Nevada Assembly, representing the 5th district, which covers parts of the western Las Vegas Valley. Born in 1974 in Detroit, Michigan, she is the daughter of a Detroit police sergeant and a civilian U.S. Army employee.
Miller received her bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University, a master’s degree in public administration from Oakland University, and a Master of Arts in teaching from Sierra Nevada College. Before her political career, she taught at Canarelli Middle School in the Clark County School District.
Her political journey began in 2016 when she was elected to the Nevada Assembly. She won a 3-way Democratic primary and a close general election. Her campaign was supported by Our Revolution and endorsed by the Clark County Black Caucus.
In the Assembly, Miller has been a passionate advocate for various causes. She supports expanding background checks for gun purchases. She is also a strong advocate for education, criminal justice reform, Veterans, social justice, a diversified economy, and accountable government.
