Before his tenure in the Senate, which began on November 9, 2022, Daly served in the Nevada Assembly from 2010 until 2014 and again from 2016 to 2020. His political journey has seen him serve in various capacities and through different terms.

In terms of his educational background, Daly earned his Associate of Arts (AA) degree from Truckee Meadows Community College.

Daly’s career experience includes working as a business manager with Laborers’ Union Local 169. He has also served on the board of the United Way of Northern Nevada, the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee, and the Sparks Charter Committee.
