Representative Carrie Sorensen

Carrie Sorensen is a Democratic Party member serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She represents Rockingham District 28, having assumed office on December 4, 2024. Her current term is set to end on December 2, 2026.

Carrie Sorensen was born and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire. She pursued higher education at Syracuse University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, and later obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University in Brooklyn. Her career as a physical therapist has been distinguished by her board certification as an orthopedic specialist. After completing her studies, she lived in Brooklyn, New York, for a time before returning to New Hampshire in 2019. She currently resides in Portsmouth with her husband and daughter.

Carrie’s journey into politics began with her involvement in the 2007 Obama campaign, which ignited her passion for public service. Her commitment to addressing the needs of young families has been a driving force in her political career. She is a strong advocate for affordable housing, accessible childcare, and comprehensive healthcare. Carrie also champions the right of individuals to make personal decisions regarding their health and bodies.

In addition to her legislative responsibilities, Carrie is an active member of her community. She joined the Portsmouth Women’s City Club in 2023, further demonstrating her dedication to civic engagement. Her decision to run for office was inspired by her desire to be a role model for her children and to contribute to making New Hampshire a better place for future generations.
