Representative Denis Murphy

Denis Murphy II is a Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He represents Cheshire District 11 and assumed office on December 4, 2024. His current term is set to end on December 2, 2026.

Denis Murphy II has a rich background in public service and community involvement. Before his tenure in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, he actively participated in local government and civic organizations. He has served as a town moderator since 2014 and has been a member of various committees, including the Conant Library Board of Trustees, the Revitalization Economic Development Committee, and the Historic District Commission. Murphy’s professional background includes working as a plastics process engineer specializing in injection molding. His technical expertise and problem-solving skills have been assets in both his professional and public service roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Ann, for over 50 years, and together they have raised four children and are proud grandparents to several grandchildren. Murphy is also an active member of Kiwanis International, where he has held leadership positions, including serving as the New England and Bermuda District Governor in 2020-2021. Additionally, he is a charter representative for the Boy Scouts and enjoys hobbies such as hiking, camping, sailing, and restoring old MG cars.
