Representative Hal Rafter
Hal Rafter is an American politician who serves as a Democratic member for the Rockingham 1st district of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He assumed office on October 4, 2023. His current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Rafter was born in Mason, New Hampshire. He earned a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1978. His career experience includes working as a senior programmer, a housing analyst, and an adjunct professor.
In addition to his political career, Rafter has also served as a former Nottingham town and school board member. In 2023, Rafter ran in a special election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Rockingham 1. He won in the special general election on September 19, 2023, defeating James Guzofski and winning 55 percent of the vote.
