Representative Jackie Chretien
Jacqueline Chretien is a dedicated and accomplished politician from New Hampshire. She is a member of the Democratic Party and currently represents the Hillsborough 41 district in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She assumed office on December 7, 2022, and her current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Chretien has always been passionate about science and education. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in molecular and cellular biology from Brandeis University in 2004. Furthering her education, she went on to earn a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the prestigious University of California at Berkeley in 2011.
Before her political career, Chretien gained valuable experience in the field of science. She worked as a team manager with Research Square, the senior editor of American Journal Experts, and an editor/art director/writer with the Berkeley Science Review. This diverse experience has undoubtedly contributed to her ability to understand and address complex issues in her political career.
On November 6, 2018, Chretien was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives where she represented the Hillsborough 42 district. She assumed office on December 5, 2018. Her dedication and hard work were recognized, and she was re-elected to represent Hillsborough 41. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
In addition to her legislative duties, Chretien has been assigned to various committees throughout her tenure. These include the Science, Technology and Energy Committee, and the Environment and Agriculture Committee.
