Representative Jodi Newell
Jodi Newell is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Cheshire 4. She assumed office on December 7, 2022, and her current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Jodi Newell ran for election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Cheshire 4 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1998. Her career experience includes working as a homeless advocate with Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore and an overdose crisis organizer with Rights & Democracy.
Jodi Newell is the widowed mother of two amazing young humans. Professionally, she is a Homeless Advocate at Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore, a transitional homeless shelter that has been central to her family’s commitment to community service for close to 4 decades.
She has also recently taken on a new position as Overdose Crisis Organizer with Rights & Democracy, working with organizations, leaders & directly affected individuals like herself across NH & VT toward effective solutions based in compassion, community building & saving precious lives.
Jodi has studied Communications, Political Science & Philosophy at Keene State College & is currently wrapping up her BA after a late in life return to further her formal education.
Jodi has been a community organizer, advocating on all levels & in whatever capacity is most useful to center the needs of those in our community whose voices are often undervalued in public discourse. She has explicitly organized around housing justice, fully funding public education, reproductive rights, protecting the integrity of our political processes, environmental protections & ensuring true access to healthcare, including expanding/improving mental health & substance use services.
