John A. Leavitt is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Merrimack 10. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.

John was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. After graduating from Manchester Memorial High School in 1980, he served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1988. Following his military service, John embarked on a career as a business owner. He has also been affiliated with the DAV/American Legion.

In the political arena, John ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Merrimack 10 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His tenure in the House of Representatives has been marked by his assignment to the State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs Committee for the 2023-2024 legislative session.

John’s commitment to public service extends beyond his role in the House of Representatives. He has held various positions in the past, including serving as a Sergeant in the militia, Deputy to the Massachusetts General Court from 1656-64, a Selectman for the town in 1661 and many subsequent years, and then Deacon of the church.

In his personal life, John is a Christian and resides in his birthplace, Manchester, New Hampshire. His dedication to his community, state, and country is evident in his service both in the military and in public office.
