Representative Karen Hegner

Karen Hegner is a dedicated public servant and a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Hillsborough District 41. She assumed office in December 2024, following her successful election in November of the same year. Karen’s journey began in Meredith, New Hampshire, where she was raised and attended Inter-Lakes High School. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue higher education at Plymouth State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for her commitment to community service and advocacy.

After completing her education, Karen worked with the Head Start program, focusing on early childhood education and support for families in need. Her dedication to making a difference eventually led her to a career in the title insurance industry, where she gained over two decades of experience. This professional background provided her with valuable insights into housing and property-related challenges, which she now leverages in her role as a legislator.

Karen is deeply committed to addressing the housing crisis in New Hampshire. As a member of the Housing Committee in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, she brings her expertise and a positive attitude to the table, working tirelessly to find practical solutions for her community.
