Representative Louis Juris
Louis Juris is a member of the Democratic Party and represents Hillsborough 7 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Juris lives in Nashua, New Hampshire. He graduated from Nashua High School and earned a degree from Northeastern University. He ran for election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Hillsborough 7 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Before his political career, Juris had an almost 25-year career at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in Boston, where he was on the engineering staff working on the communications infrastructure of the subway and rolling stock. This included maintenance of the radio system, fiber optics, wire, cabling, mechanical systems, and leases for 3rd party vendors. Major projects included the automated fare collection system, operations control center, new LRV and heavy rail cars, RFPs and specifications to name a few.
In addition to his professional career, Juris is a mostly full-time parent and landlord living in Nashua with his two daughters, one is currently in high school the other at university. He is also a Selectman in Ward 7, Hillsborough 7, in Nashua and has attended several aldermanic and board of education meetings in the past 2 years.
As a legislator, Juris was assigned to the Public Works and Highways Committee for the 2023-2024 term. The committee is responsible for all matters pertaining to the development and repair of public highways; the Highway Fund; the Turnpike Fund; buildings and capital construction; the capital budget; matters pertaining to state bonding authority; capital expenditures related to the improvement and preservation of the coastline; the care of state memorials and monuments; and such other matters as may be referred to it.
