Mary Freitas is a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Hillsborough 26. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She assumed office on December 7, 2022, and her current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, Mary Freitas graduated from Central High School in 1956. She earned a degree from Plymouth Teachers College in 1960 and from the University of New Hampshire in 1968.

Mary Freitas has had a diverse career experience, including working as a reading specialist and Title I coordinator. She has also been a dedicated volunteer, serving as a member of the Manchester Historic Association and the New Hampshire Retired Educators Association.

In addition to her work and volunteer experience, Mary Freitas has held several positions in local government. She served as a Manchester Selectman for Ward 7 from 2006 to 2014.

Throughout her tenure in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Mary Freitas has been assigned to several committees. These include the Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee, and the Election Law Committee.

In the 2022 elections, Mary Freitas ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Hillsborough 26. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
