Representative Mary Georges

Mary Ngwanda Georges is a Democratic Party member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Hillsborough District 23. She assumed office on December 4, 2024, and her current term is set to end on December 2, 2026.

Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mary Georges began her career as a nurse after earning her first degree in nursing. She worked at the Medical Sport Center of Kinshasa before moving to the United States in 1990. Overcoming language barriers and challenges, she initially worked in dry cleaning and eventually became the owner of her own cleaning business. Her determination and passion for helping others led her to pursue higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a master’s degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College in Massachusetts.

Mary Georges is the founder of Victory Women of Vision (VWV), a nonprofit organization she established in 2003. Through VWV, she has been a driving force in advocating for women’s and children’s rights, particularly within immigrant and refugee communities. She has also served as the Executive Director of Women and Youth Services for the Congolese Commission of the United States and was the founder and past president of the Congolese Community of New Hampshire.

Her dedication to public service extends to local government, where she was elected as a selectwoman for Manchester Ward 3 in 2015. She also served on the Manchester School Board from 2015 to 2019, where she worked to support local families and improve educational opportunities for minority children. Mary Georges is a motivational speaker who empowers immigrant and refugee communities to achieve success and advocates for equal rights and opportunities for all.

Throughout her career, Mary Georges has been recognized for her contributions to her community. In 2019, she received the Good Samaritan Award from the Pastoral Council Services for her outstanding service. Her work continues to inspire and uplift those around her, making her a respected leader and advocate in New Hampshire.
