Oliver Ford is a distinguished member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing the Rockingham 3 district. He is a member of the Republican Party and assumed office on December 7, 2022. His current term is set to end on December 4, 2024.

Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Ford graduated from Byrd High School. He then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1969, reaching the rank of captain. After his military service, Ford pursued higher education at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1962 and a Master of Arts in 1968. He also attended the American Institute for International Studies, earning a Bachelor of Foreign Trade. Ford later earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Connecticut in 1975.

Ford’s career spans various roles in academia. He worked as an English professor at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He also served as the Dean of Humanities and Social Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Later, he held the position of Academic Vice-President at Fitchburg State in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He was also the President of Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, Minnesota.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Ford has a passion for hunting, fishing, and marksmanship. He currently resides at 67 Chester Street, Chester, New Hampshire.

As a legislator, Ford has been assigned to the House Education Committee for the 2023-2024 term. He ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Rockingham 3 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Ford’s dedication to public service and his extensive experience in academia make him a valuable member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
