Representative Peter Leishman

Peter Leishman is an American politician who serves as a Democratic member for the Hillsborough 33rd district of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Leishman has a rich history of service in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He served in the House previously, representing Hillsborough 3 from 2008 to 2010, Hillsborough 6 from 2006 to 2008, and various other districts from 1996 to 2002. He also ran for the House in 2002 and 2004.

In addition to his legislative duties, Leishman has also served as a selectman. His career experience includes owning Milford-Bennington Railroad Co. He has served on the Milford Board of Selectmen, on the Peterborough Zoning Board, and with the Peterborough Lions Club.

Leishman earned an A.A. from Unity College. His commitment to public service and his community is evident in his extensive involvement in local governance and civic organizations.

Throughout his tenure, Leishman has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 legislative session, he was assigned to the House Finance Committee and the Finance - Division I Committee, where he served as Chair. In the 2021-2022 legislative session, he was assigned to the Fiscal Committee, the House Finance Committee, and the Finance - Division I Committee.
