Representative Ray Newman
Ray Newman is a distinguished member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He represents the Hillsborough 29 district and is a member of the Democratic Party.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Newman moved to Nashua, New Hampshire in 1981. He is married to fellow state representative Sue Newman. Together, they have three children and six grandchildren.
Newman has a rich military background. After earning a B.A. in education from Providence College in 1968, he was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and an Engine and Avionics Detachment Commander.
His political career began when he was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives on November 6, 2018. He assumed office on December 5, 2018. Newman’s dedication to his constituents and his party has been evident throughout his tenure.
In addition to his political and military service, Newman has had a diverse career. He has worked as an air traffic controller and supervisor with the Federal Aviation Administration and a subject matter expert with MITRE Corp.
