Born on November 19, 1936, in Sweden, Ruth Ward embarked on her political journey in the United States. She has been serving in the New Hampshire Senate from the 8th district since 2016, succeeding Jerry Little.

In the general election held on November 8, 2022, Ward ran for re-election to the New Hampshire State Senate to represent District 8. Displaying her political prowess and public support, she emerged victorious in the election.

Throughout her tenure, Ward has been assigned to various committees, reflecting her versatility and commitment. In the 2023-2024 session, she served as the Chair of the Senate Education Committee and was also a part of the Rules and Enrolled Bills Committee and the Senate Transportation Committee.
