Born and raised in New Hampshire, Sherry Gould has always been deeply connected to her community. Her commitment to public service is evident in her decision to run for election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Merrimack 8. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

In addition to her political career, Sherry Gould is also an Abenaki basketmaker. This art form is a significant part of her identity and heritage. When the state of Vermont recognized four Native American groups in 2011 and 2012, Sherry Gould saw an opportunity to not only join a tribe but also to protect her art.

Her political journey continued in the 2022 elections. Sherry Gould, along with Tony Caplan and Stephanie Payeur, advanced from the Democratic primary for New Hampshire House of Representatives Merrimack 8 on September 13, 2022. In the general election for New Hampshire House of Representatives Merrimack 8 on November 8, 2022, Sherry Gould received 19.6% of the votes, securing her position in the House of Representatives.

As a legislator, Sherry Gould has sponsored several bills, demonstrating her commitment to her constituents and her dedication to making a difference. She is also a part of the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee for the tenure of 2023-2024.
