Steven Smith is a member of the Republican Party and represents Sullivan 3 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Born on June 23, 1964, Steven Smith graduated from Centereach High School in 1982. He earned an A.S. in business administration and management from Granite State College in 2019. His career experience includes co-owning Smith Scale Speedway, owning Boss Bodies, and working as a realtor with Hinch Crowley Realty Associates.

Smith was first elected to the New Hampshire House in 2010 in Sullivan County District 5, and then Sullivan County District 11 (after redistricting) which includes the towns of Acworth, Charlestown, Goshen, Langdon, Lempster, and Washington. His top legislative priorities include eliminating waste and looking for new millennium solutions to the public transportation problem.

In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Smith was assigned to the Rules Committee and the House Transportation Committee. In the 2021-2022 legislative session, Smith was assigned to the Legislative Facilities Committee, Rules Committee, Special Committee On Redistricting (Vice-Chair), and House Transportation Committee.

Smith has been affiliated with the Council of State Governments Transportation Committee, the National Conference of State Legislatures Natural Resources & Infrastructure Committee, and the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Infrastructure Commission.

In his personal life, Smith is an Eagle Scout and history buff. His hobbies are model railroading and slot car racing. He has lived in Sullivan County for 30 years. After working in many local factories, mills, and foundries, he became a software tester and trainer for a tech company for sixteen years. He currently works as a Realtor.
