Angela V. McKnight, born on March 10, 1977, is an American Democratic Party politician who has represented the 31st Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since she was sworn into office on January 12, 2016. She is a resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix with a major in business management.

McKnight is the founder and chief executive officer of AngelaCARES, an advocacy and support organization for senior citizens. She introduced a bill in the General Assembly in 2019, requiring students to demonstrate proficiency in the use of cursive handwriting, both reading and writing, by the end of the third grade.

In 2023, McKnight received the nomination for the Senate seat following the announcement that Sandra Bolden Cunningham would not run for re-election after 16 years in office. McKnight defeated Republican Luis Soto in the 2023 New Jersey Senate election.

As of 2024, she is a member of the New Jersey State Senate, representing District 31. She assumed office on January 9, 2024. Her current term ends on January 11, 2028.

In addition to running AngelaCARES, Inc., she is the owner of Care About You, LLC. Care About You, LLC provides consultant services to caregivers and agencies to assist and help the elderly population. She also conducts speaking engagements, training, mentoring, and business consulting as the Carepreneur and has a retail business, Thank HER Now, where she empowers, encourages, and inspires women to thank each other!

Angela is a self-published author of her first book called Caregiver’s Guide to Helping Seniors Eat Healthy. In her book, she shares her caregiving experiences to help caregivers assist their Senior Loved One (SLO) eat healthy.
