Representative Anthony Angelozzi

Anthony Angelozzi is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing District 8. He assumed office on January 13, 2026, and his current term will conclude on January 11, 2028.

Angelozzi won his seat in the general election held on November 4, 2025, succeeding Michael Torrissi, and his victory marked the beginning of his legislative career in the state.

Born on May 8, 1985, Angelozzi grew up in New Jersey as the son of two casino gaming employees. He worked his way through college by dealing blackjack and roulette at the Atlantic City Hilton and the Taj Mahal, experiences that gave him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by working-class families. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University–Camden in 2008 and later completed a master’s degree in United States history from the American Public University System in 2018. His academic background reflects a strong interest in both economic policy and historical context, which informs his approach to governance.

Professionally, Angelozzi has built a career as a high school history teacher at Hammonton High School, where he has been deeply involved in education and community life. He also serves as President of the Hammonton Education Association, advocating for teachers and students alike. His leadership roles within the Hammonton Education Association and his affiliation with the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) highlight his commitment to strengthening public education and supporting educators. Additionally, he has been active with the Historical Society of Hammonton, further demonstrating his dedication to preserving and promoting local heritage.
