Representative Dawn Fantasia
Dawn Fantasia is an American Republican Party politician serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly for the 24th legislative district.
Fantasia was sworn in as an assemblywoman in January 2024.
A graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hamburg, Fantasia earned her undergraduate degree in 1995 at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia, and a master’s in educational leadership in 2014 from Capella University through the assistance of a scholarship for working moms.
She has worked in education as a public charter school teacher and administrator for more than 15 years, and is currently a middle school principal for the Bergen Arts and Science Charter School in Garfield. She was named the school’s teacher of the year in 2010.
Fantasia served on the Sussex County Board of County Commissioners from 2018 through 2023. She was on the Franklin Borough Council for three years before being appointed president in 2018. She was also a member of the borough’s planning and zoning boards, and economic development committee. Her volunteer experience has been focused on improving the lives of senior citizens and veterans.
She resides in Franklin Borough and raised three adult children, Maria, Aidan, and Lila, as a single mom.
