Senator Mark Murphy

Mark Murphy is a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 59. He assumed office on January 21, 2025, and his current term is set to end on December 31, 2026.

Mark Murphy brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his role in the New Mexico House of Representatives. With over four decades of professional expertise in the oil and gas industry, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the energy sector. Murphy serves as the President of Strata Production Company, a family-owned oil and gas exploration and production business based in Roswell, New Mexico. His extensive career has also seen him take on significant roles such as Director and former President of the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico, former Treasurer of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, and Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America’s Land and Royalty Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the National Petroleum Council.

Murphy’s appointment to the New Mexico House of Representatives was made by the Chaves County Commissioners following the resignation of his predecessor, Jared Hembree. His appointment reflects his commitment to serving his community and addressing the challenges faced by the residents of District 59.
