Education: Figueroa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her education has played a significant role in shaping her political career and her approach to policy-making.

Career: Before entering politics, Figueroa worked as a Spanish teacher in Albuquerque. This experience in education has undoubtedly influenced her political career and her focus on educational policies. In 2016, she ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives. However, she did not let this setback deter her.
